17th Annual Luncheon has Record Attendance
A record breaking number of guests packed the Knight Gym for the 17th annual Financial Aid Luncheon on Wednesday, October 16! Parents, alumni, grandparents, alumni parents and friends enjoyed fall-themed decor and a spirited performance by the Jesuit Chamber Choir to kick off the event.
Our dynamic student emcees Danny Murphy ’20 and Ria Debnath ’20 gave audience members an entertaining glimpse into the lives of current JHS students while student speaker Yosan Tewelde ’20 inspired guests with her family’s amazing story of resiliency and hope.
Keynote Tim Boyle, President and CEO of Columbia Sportswear and class of 1967 JHS alumnus, humored attendees with stories of life as a Jesuit student during the all-boys era. On a parting note, Tim stunned the crowd with his announcement of a matching gift for all funds raised at the luncheon! We are incredibly grateful for Tim and Mary’s tremendous commitment to the education of Jesuit students.
Alumni parent speaker Gladys Lalic closed the luncheon with her heartfelt and moving words. Gladys shared her family’s courageous story of adversity and how financial aid and the “Jesuit family” made a difference in their lives.
Special thanks to Financial Aid Luncheon Chairs Desiree Baldocchi and Marni Goodman, the Financial Aid Luncheon Committee, sponsors and volunteers who spent countless hours ensuring the success of this critical event for our school.
All new and increased gifts will be matched up to $20,000 thanks to the generous support of an Anonymous donor and The Bernice Heffernan Family Foundation with support of Pat & Tricia Heffernan.
