This May, Jesuit choir students and chamber choir alumni raised their voices for a special virtual collaboration of the song "Shelter Your Name." The piece has been a staple of the school's choral program for more than a decade and is a popular refrain at Mass, on retreats, and in student concerts.
Alumni from across the country joined together to lend their voices to the project.
"Students and alumni share a remarkable connection through this song," said Katie Skayhan '11. "No matter where you are, it brings you right back to Jesuit."
Members of the virtual choir came together to help raise awareness for the Jesuit Family Financial Aid Fund. The financial aid fundraising campaign has rallied parents, teachers, alumni, and members of the wider community to help Jesuit families who have been impacted by COVID-19. The campaign, which ends on Sunday, May 31st, will help students continue at Jesuit through increased financial aid.
The collaboration also included Jesuit's current choral director Kristen Caldwell and founding director Carol Young, who led the program for 25 years from 1994 to 2018.
