Sydney Collins '18 Chosen First Round in NWSL Draft

Congratulations to Sydney Collins ’18 for being chosen in the first round of the National Women’s Soccer League Draft! Sydney, who’s currently in her fifth year at the University of California, Berkeley, was selected by the NC Courage as the eighth overall pick in the draft.

Before graduating in 2018, Sydney played varsity soccer at Jesuit for all four years. She was a four-year starter and two-year team captain. She was also an “outstanding central defender,” said Jesuit women’s soccer coach Steve Fennah.

After graduating from Jesuit, Sydney went on to Berkeley, where she was a three-time captain for the Bears. She played in 85 games with 84 starts over five years, and led the team with 1900 minutes this last season. We can’t wait to see what she does next with the Courage!
