JHS OBOB Team
Jesuit’s OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) team is headed to state! Grace Sohn ’24, Julia Shih ’25 and Ashelie Hintzman ’24 won the regional competition and will square off against other high school teams at the state competition on April 13 in Salem.
FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics State Championship
Several Jesuit students competed at the Oregon FIRST Tech Challenge State Championship on March 11! Madeline Williams '26 and Teddy Wang '27 competed on the Lake Oswego FTC ToborTech team, which won the 2nd Place Inspire Award, the 1st Place Innovate Award, and was the Winning Alliance Team. Other Jesuit students also competed on the Revamped, Overcharged, and Mechanical Mages teams, all of which will join ToborTech in qualifying for the World Championships in Houston from April 17-20. Congratulations!!
Science Fair Team at GBSE
The JHS Science Fair Team had great results at the GBSE (Gresham-Barlow STEM Expo) on March 8 at the University of Portland! Of the 21 Jesuit students who presented research, 14 qualified for the state competition (NWSE), and one exceptional student, Shriya Pai '26, is going straight to ISEF, the International Science and Engineering Fair! Congratulations to Shriya and the following state qualifiers: Anvi Kalidindi '25, Nidhi Yadalam '26, Lucy Robb '25, Elinor Hwee '26, Sohan Govindaraju '26, Arjun Agarwal '26, Anay Aggarwal '26, Manu Isaacs '26, Shriya Marla '26, Siddarth D'Costa '25, Kevin Boriboonsomsin '27, Daniel Mamchik '27 and Akash Ragam '26.
Ethics Bowl Wins Regionals
Congratulations to the JHS Ethics Bowl team for their amazing regionals win against the Washington state champs! Shonali Chakravarty '25, Annie Duan '25, Riya Girish '24, Ali Mo '24 and Ahana Naskar '26 are one of 24 teams heading to the national championship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on April 12-14.
OSCF Co-ed State Chess Championship
Jesuit’s Co-ed Chess Team tied for first place in OSCF’s first-ever Co-ed State Team Championship this past weekend! Congratulations to Havish Sripada '27, Ishaan Kodarapu '27, Conner Jensen '24, Nidhi Yadalam '26 and Norah Strickland '25 for this awesome accomplishment!
