Magda Skarbonkiewicz Qualifies for USA Olympic Fencing Team

Congratulations to Magda Skarbonkiewicz, who has qualified for the USA Fencing Team for the Paris 2024 Olympics!

Magda, a saber fencer, finished the season second in the country. Previously, she won the gold medal at the 2023 Junior & Cadet Fencing World Championships in Bulgaria, representing Team USA. Magda has also won two cadet (17U) world championships and two junior (20U) world championships.

Magda, who is a current high school senior, attended Jesuit High School for her first three years before transitioning to online school to be able to better balance schoolwork and training for the Olympic team. Magda’s brother Maks is a current freshman at JHS. Magda will be attending Notre Dame in the fall, where she’ll begin her collegiate fencing career!

"I've dreamed of going to the Olympics since I was 6, and as I grew up, I continued to work hard, sacrificing a lot of time to get where I am today. I am so excited to head to the Paris 2024 Olympics representing Team USA, and couldn't have done it without all the support I received on my journey,” Magda said. “I would like to give a special thanks to Jesuit High School, the staff, teachers and students for continuously supporting me and constantly doing everything they could to make sure I could achieve my goals and dreams in fencing while also succeeding in my education. I couldn't be more grateful."

We can’t wait to watch Magda compete in Paris this summer!
