Jesuit High School’s Financial Aid Luncheon raises critical funds for financial aid each year. The event’s keynote speaker is Kim Malek, the CEO and co-founder of Portland-based Salt & Straw Ice Cream. Since 2011, Kim has built Salt & Straw from a humble ice cream cart into a fast-growing company with over 30 locations, while retaining its bones as a family-run company known for its culture of hospitality. A pioneer in localization, every chef-driven ice cream flavor is handmade using ingredients from local farmers and artisans.

Kim is a champion for causes such as childhood hunger and equal rights through initiatives such as community hiring programs. With a resume that includes Starbucks, Yahoo!, adidas, and Gardenburger, Kim was named to Inc. Magazine's 100 Female Founders list of entrepreneurs and Nation's Restaurant News' Power List. Kim is a current Jesuit parent and serves on the school's Finance Committee.

The program includes a student speaker and a performance by the Jesuit choir. We will also draw the winning entry for the Ticket for Tuition raffle, a chance to win full tuition – worth $18,500 – for the 2024-2025 school year. Tickets are $100 each, and the winning ticket is transferable.

Thanks to the generosity of community members, Jesuit awarded $3.8 million in financial aid to 292 students for the 2023-2024 school year, with an average grant of $11,800. Jesuit is dedicated to keeping a Jesuit education accessible and affordable.

Please join us for the Financial Aid Luncheon and help us continue our mission of educating young women and men for others. For more information about sponsorship, raffle tickets, and to register, please visit jesuitportland.org/fal.
