Jesuit Alums and Community Members Honored as 2024 Presidential Award Winners

Congratulations to our 2024 Presidential Award Winners! These Jesuit High School community members were honored at our Baccalaureate Mass on June 1 for their unwavering commitment to serving our school and their communities.

Age Quod Agis Award – Al Kato: The motto of Jesuit High School is Age Quod Agis, “Do Well Whatever You Do.” The President’s Age Quod Agis Award recognizes individuals who have “done well” in their association with Jesuit High School. Jesuit High School awarded the 2024 Age Quod Agis Award to Al Kato, who retired in December after 35 years of dedicated service in various roles, including band director, DEI assistant, and chess coach. Al's multifaceted contributions, from leading the student band to securing necessities for retreats and coaching the chess team to state championships, have profoundly impacted our school community. Known for his commitment, kindness, and humility, Al plans to continue volunteering at Jesuit events and coaching the chess team while enjoying his retirement.

St. Peter Canisius, S.J. Award – Fr. Craig Boly, S.J. ’62: St. Peter Canisius, S.J. is the patron saint of Jesuit High School. A contemporary of St. Ignatius of Loyola, he was a famous scholar, preacher, writer, and Apostle to Germany during the Reformation. This year’s award recipient is Fr. Craig Boly, S.J. ’62. Fr. Boly has served in various roles at Jesuit, including chaplain, campus minister, pastor, and board member. Fr. Boly also served at institutions such as Gonzaga University, St. Joseph Parish in Seattle and St. Pius X in Cedar Mill. Recognized for his dedicated service, spiritual guidance, and contributions to education and community building, Fr. Boly celebrates his 50th anniversary of ordination as a Jesuit priest this month.

Alumnus of the Year Award – Lisa Varela Boli ’95: This award is presented to an individual whose actions and deeds represent the values of Jesuit High School as found in the Profile of the Jesuit Graduate at Graduation: open to growth, intellectually competent, loving, religious, and committed to doing justice. Lisa Varela Boli ’95, a pioneering member of Jesuit High School's first coeducational classes, is the 2024 Alumnus of the Year in recognition of her exceptional achievements and commitment to the school. Since graduating in 1995, Lisa has built a distinguished career as an Executive Producer at Logitech, leading global teams in developing multi-million dollar campaigns and new product launches. Despite her busy professional life, Lisa remains actively engaged with Jesuit High School, giving back through philanthropy and participation in alumni events, and continually embodying the school's values of leadership, community, and service.

Fr. Pedro Arrupe, S.J. Award – Tricia Heffernan: Jesuit High School’s Arrupe Award honors and recognizes those whose service is a model of what it means to be a person for others.
