Congratulations to Coach Kirsten Ruchaber, who recently became the winningest women’s tennis coach in Oregon state history! Last Saturday, Coach Ruchaber coached Jesuit’s women’s tennis team to their 17th state title – a record-breaking 11 of which were won under her leadership.
Coach Ruchaber has made a huge impact on Jesuit’s women’s tennis program over the last 24 years. Along with her 11 state titles, she has an astounding 352-13 overall record with 19 Metro League titles. She is a six-time Metro League Coach of the Year and a six-time Oregon Athletic Coaches Association Coach of the Year.
Outside of these statewide recognitions, Coach Ruchaber was named National Girls Tennis Coach of the Year by NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) in 2022, and Professional Tennis Registry High School Coach of the Year in 2023.
“We are so grateful to have had Kirsten Ruchaber at the helm of our women’s tennis program for the last 24 years,” said Athletic Director Colin Griffin. “Coach Ruchaber has shown immense dedication to hundreds of student-athletes and Jesuit High School.”
We are so proud of Coach Kirsten Ruchaber for this well-deserved recognition. She joins Jesuit men’s tennis coach Jeff Wood in this honor, with Coach Wood holding the record of winningest men’s tennis coach since 2016. We feel blessed to have such incredible coaches and educators.
