Abby Cox ‘24 is the 2023-24 Gatorade Oregon Girls Soccer Player of the Year. The award celebrates the top high school athletes in the United States for their excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
In her senior year, Abby scored 18 goals and had 17 assists as a midfielder and forward. Abby was named the OSAA 6A Player of the Year and the Metro League Player of the Year. She also played in the High School All-American game last fall.
Outside of soccer, Abby was a JHS ambassador, peer tutor, served the community at a soccer camp for underserved children, and helped raise money for the Children’s Cancer Association. She maintained a 3.99 GPA at Jesuit High School.
“Abby is well deserving of the Gatorade award,” said Jesuit women’s soccer coach Steve Fennah. “She is an outstanding soccer player and great leader, but most importantly she is just a wonderful human.”
Abby plans to play soccer at Texas Christian University this fall.
Congratulations, Abby!
