Jesuit alum named Distinguished Young Woman of America

Congratulations to Nikita Chincholkar ‘25, who was named the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2025.

Nikita competed against representatives from 48 states in a variety of categories. Nikita was awarded $39,000 in college scholarship funds, comprising $35,000 for winning the title of DYW of America and four category awards worth $1,000 each: scholastics, fitness, talent, and interview. 

Nikita will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this fall, majoring in neuroscience. 

At Jesuit, Nikita participated in the Liturgy Band, Red Cross Club, Science Bowl, HOSA - Future Health Professionals Club, and the Neuroscience, Psychology, and Psychiatry Club. She was also a National Merit Finalist and has been training in Bharatanatyam (Indian classical dance) for over 12 years.

Distinguished Young Women is a national scholarship program that aims to inspire high school girls to reach their full potential by providing scholarships, personal development opportunities, and a positive peer network. Now in its 68th year, the program has awarded more than $1.4 billion in cash tuition and college-granted scholarships.
