Dear juniors and seniors,

To keep our community safe and healthy, we are requiring all juniors and seniors who will be coming to campus for any reason in semester 2 to participate in antigen rapid-testing for COVID-19 before the Green and Gold cohorts of juniors and seniors return for hybrid instruction next week. Please read this email carefully.

The tests will take place in the Moyer Lobby, and take approximately 15 minutes. Students do NOT need to come through the CapScann machines, but should enter the gate between the Smith Gym and Moyer Theatre. Timeslots are first-come, first-served. The link for Saturday, February 6 can be accessed here: https://bit.ly/Jesuit_SignUp. When you sign up, you have to click "enter" after selecting your time to get to the page where you enter your name and email.

There is no charge for your rapid antigen testing conducted by NW Mobile Labs. Jesuit is paying for the test administration. The preregistration will ask for the student's insurance information. Your insurer will be reimbursed for the test itself through the federal CARES Act.

You must complete a series of electronic forms before your COVID-19 test, at this link:  https://bit.ly/nwmobiletesting_jesuit. The preregistration will ask for the student's Social Security Number. If you do not want to give that, just enter 111 11 1111.

The demographic questions (ethnicity, gender, etc) are required by the State of Oregon, but students may skip those unless they choose to answer them. If you develop any symptoms between the time you fill out these forms and your test date, do not come to campus and let your doctor know.

If you cannot make it on Saturday, there are a limited number of slots available on Monday, February 8, here: http://bit.ly/Jesuit_Student_Monday

If they cannot make either of these dates, students must send documentation of a negative COVID test taken between Friday, February 5 and Tuesday, February 9 to reportcovid@jesuitportland.org

See bottom of this email for labs where students can receive a rapid-antigen test.

Who should get tested?

All students and staff  are required to receive a COVID-19 test prior to students' return to school.  The only exception:

  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, do not come to campus.  You are still in the active phase of the virus and could potentially spread it to others.

Prior to testing

  • Step 1 - Follow this link to a set of forms that must be filled out in order to receive a COVID-19 test.  It is important to fill these out prior to the day of testing.  https://bit.ly/nwmobiletesting_jesuit
  • Step 2 - To maintain social distancing during testing, we are asking you to sign up for an assigned time slot.  Follow this link to sign up and reserve your testing spot.
    • Monday, Feb 8:    http://bit.ly/Jesuit_Staff_Monday
    • Saturday, Feb 6:   https://bit.ly/Jesuit_SignUp
  • Step 3 - Test results will be delivered to you via a secure e-mail within 24 hours of receiving the test. (This will be sent via nwmobiletesting@protonmail.com Use the following password: JesuitCOVIDresult
  • Step 4 - If you have any questions or concerns about the testing process please email: testing@nwmobiletesting.com

Day of Testing

If you are currently exhibiting any symptoms (New or worsening cough, fever/chills, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, changes in smell/taste, runny nose/congestion, fatigue, chest pain/pressure, difficulty breathing/shortness of breath) or have recently been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please let Jen Adams know and do not come to campus for testing.

Safety protocols

You are required to wear a mask at all times while on campus and practice social distancing.  Please make use of the hand sanitizer that will be provided.

Where to enter?

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your reserved time slot as we will observe best social distancing and safety protocols. Please enter via the gates between the Smith and PAC, and then enter the PAC through the doors right opposite the box office/Smith Gym.

What to expect?

After you enter the PAC, you will check in for your rapid COVID-19 test in the lobby and proceed to a testing station. After your test, you will exit through the back doors of the PAC and leave campus. Please do not stay on campus and mingle.  This is very important for maintaining the health and safety of our community.

How will you be notified of your result?

Test results will be delivered to you via a secure e-mail within 24 hours of receiving your test. This email will be sent from nwmobiletesting@protonmail.com and you will use the following password to access the results: JesuitCovidResult

What happens if I get a positive test?

In the event you receive a positive test result, NW Mobile Testing will call you on your provided contact number.  You will be requested to receive a molecular PCR test through your health care provider. In the meantime, you will be asked to follow CDC recommended isolation procedures. If you feel sick or develop symptoms of COVID-19, you should contact your health care provider.

What does it mean if I test negative for COVID-19?
If you test negative for COVID-19, you probably were not infected at the time your sample was collected. However, that does not mean you will not get sick. The test result only means that you did not have COVID-19 at the time of testing. If you develop symptoms later, you might need another test to determine if you are infected with the virus that causes COVID-19.

It is important to continue to practice safe behavior.  Wear a mask over nose and mouth, practice social distance and stay six feet away from others, avoid crowded spaces, avoid poorly ventilated spaces, wash your hands often, clean and disinfect, and monitor your health daily. For more information on how to protect yourself please visit.

Will I test positive if I have received the COVID-19 vaccination?
No, the vaccine won't cause you to test positive on a COVID-19 viral test, such as the PCR or antigen tests. However, you may test positive for the antibody test, due to developing an immune response. At this time, NW Mobile Testing is not performing antibody testing.
