JHS Textbooks

Digital textbooks vary depending on the subject, course, and teacher. Digital textbooks are automatically provided to students when school starts. During registration, each student will pay a fee per course based on the books and/or fees associated with that course. Families may choose to find and purchase additional hard copies of textbooks if they wish, but hard copies will not replace the digital texts or reduce course fees. Families should also be cautious that hard copies can often differ significantly from digital versions; students should rely primarily on the digital versions.

Students may be required to use any or all of the following tools on their iPads to access digital textbooks. Many of these are also available via websites that can be accessed on other devices.

• iBooks
• E-book, PDF file, or web-book link provided in a Canvas course
• Publisher-required reader or site (e.g. Pearson MyLab, Big Ideas Math, Vista Higher Learning SuperSite, WebAssign)

In addition to the digital texts, some courses require hard copy workbooks or other materials. These texts will also be distributed during the first week of school.

Hard copy texts are required for certain courses. These texts should be purchased prior to the first day of school if a student is taking any of the courses listed below. 

Additionally, all freshmen will be provided with a high-quality paper edition of the Bible, which will be distributed during the first week of school.
