Jesuit High School

Application Deadlines
Freshman applications are due January 14, 2011. Jesuit High School accepts transfer student applications in the fall as well as mid-year entry for the second semester in January. A complete application includes student information, essays by the parent(s), and an explanation by the student as to why s/he wishes to become part of the Jesuit High School community. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee.

Freshman applicants must take the High School Placement Test (in December) which helps determine course selection. All applicants also supply Jesuit with school records (grades, test scores) and school-based recommendations.

Review Process
School records, test scores, and application information are reviewed by the Admissions Committee, which is composed of Jesuit faculty members and administrators. The committee reviews the applications on the basis of Jesuit's Mission Statement and the Profile of the Jesuit High School Graduate at Graduation.

The Admissions Committee considers religious commitment, academic record, relationship with peers and teachers, talents and interests, special circumstances, and the overall balance and diversity of the freshman class. Unfortunately, not every qualified applicant can be admitted.

Selection Process
Notification letters to freshmen are mailed during March. In spring 2009, approximately 500 candidates applied for 300 positions in the freshman class. Approximately 60 candidates applied for 12 positions in grades 10-12. If you have questions, contact Patsy Chambers  or call (503) 291-5423.

Transfer applications are handled on an individual basis.
